Ei mahda minkään. Halusin tässä kohtaa teemaamme arvostella jonkin uuden rikoselokuvan, josta pidän. Minun nenääni Tom Tykwerin ohjaama Parfyymi vain valitettavasti tuoksuu eltaantuneelta jos miltään.

Elokuvahan siis perustuu Patrik Süskindin romaaniin, josta 80-luvulla kovasti kohuttiin. Tarinan saaminen valkokankaalle kesti näin kauan, koska tekijä ei huolinut tarinaansa ohjaamaan ihan ketä tahansa.

Juonesta on paha mennä paljastamaan mitään, koska yllättävillä käänteillähän tässä pelataan. Alaotsikko murhaajan tarina kertoo jo jotain, samoin kuin se, että päähenkilöllä on erinomaisen tarkka hajuaisti.

Oivaksi esimerkiksi käy elokuvan traileriinkin poimittu kohtaus.

Tyttö pilkkoo aprikooseja, kamera hyväilee tytön kuulasta ihoa, pysähtyy pisamiin kaula-aukkoon. Muutama suortuva punaista tukkaa karkaa omille teilleen, tyttö pyyhkäisee huolimattomasti niitä pois tieltä. Mies ilmestyy tytön taakse, tuntee aprikoosien tuoksun, hengittää syvään sisään nenä kiinni niskassa. Tyttö kääntyy äkkiä, huomaa miehen, alkaa kirkua. Syystä, kuten pian käy ilmi.

Niin, aivan oikein, paitsi tuoksusta Parfyymissa on paljolti kysymys seksuaalisuudesta. Väkivallasta tietysti myös.

Asetelmassa on jotain kovin tuttua, ja vanhentunutta myös. Viattomuus on arvokkainta maailmassa, neitosten isät ankaria. En ole lukenut romaania lainkaan; väittävät, että sen kerronnassa on mukana hienompia vivahteita ja ulottuvuuksia, jotka tekevät asetelmasta vähemmän ummehtuneen. Elokuvasta ne puuttuvat.

Jos kyseessä olisi oikeasti 1700-luvun tarina, asetelman antaisi anteeksi. Nyt niin ei tee mieli tehdä. 

Elokuva kyllä yrittää kovasti leikitellä muillakin aisteilla kuin näöllä ja kuulolla. Etenkin filmin alkupuolella katsojan eteen marssitetaan groteskeja yksityiskohtia, mielikuvitusta ja sitä kautta hajuaistia yritetään herätellä kuvaamalla saastaa. Tämä ei toimi ainakaan minun kohdallani. Ällöttää kyllä, mutta tunnen silti vain elokuvateatterin popcorninhajun, en Pariisin takakujien löyhkää.

Hajuaisti aiheena kyllä on erinomaisen mielenkiintoinen. Toisinkin sitä voi käsitellä.

Poikani tuli levykaupasta erikoisissa fiiliksissä. Hän oli haistanut hyvän tuoksun. Kotona nuorimies pohti, ovatko suomalaiset markkinointimiehet jo ottaneet käyttöönsä samat kikat kuin Amerikoissa, jossa ostajia houkutellaan ostopäätöksiin paitsi stimuloivalla musiikilla, myös stimuloivilla tuoksuilla.
Ja minä kun olen tähän asti luullut, että miehillä on huonompi hajuaisti kuin naisilla!

Markkinointimieheltä kikka ei varmaan olisi huono. En ole itse vielä Suomessa mokomaa havainnut, jos ei oteta huomioon sellaista yksinkertaista seikkaa, että tuoreen pullan tuoksu kauppakeskuksen käytävällä saa jalat vähän turhan helposti kääntymään konditoriaan päin.

Hyvältä tuntuvan tuoksun löytäminen juuri sille oikealle kohderyhmälle varmaankin on aika vaikeaa, hajuthan ne vasta yksilöllisesti koetaankin.

Elokuvaa en ole nähnyt, mutta kirjan lukenut. Kannattaa lukea, vaikka ei senkään sisältö aina niin mieltä ylentävää ole. Omituinen juttu.

Kirjaa en ole koskaan saanut luettua, mutta elokuvan katsoin ja se saattoi olla huonoin näkemäni filmi muutaman viime vuoden sisään. Siitä ei jäänyt yksinkertaisesti mitään kouraan. Ei edes kysymyksiä. Päähenkilö oli tympeännäköinen ja pökkelömäinen mies, jonka toimien motiivit kyllä tulivat selväksi, mutta se, miksi hän oli sellainen tai tullut sellaiseksi, jäi käsittelemättä. Okei, odotin jonkinlaista kasvutarinaa, miten jostakusta tulee murhaaja jne, mutta tässä oli vain kaula-aukkoja ja punaisia hiuksia, silmät kiini haisteleva päähenkilö ja uskomattoman tönköt dialogit ja juonenkäänteet. Ihan turha pätkä.
